The Lifetrend Team thinks it’s fantastic that the following will take place: The Center for Healthy Aging and Hudson Valley Hospice will be holding an event called, A Discussion of “Considering the Conversation” at 2 p.m., Monday, April 11th at the Cafeteria Conference Room, Northern Dutchess Hospital. Segments of the film “Consider the Conversation 2: Stories about Cure, Relief and Comfort,” will serve as a catalyst for a discussion about palliative care and end-of-life issues. The film chronicles the real-life experiences of a variety of patients who are terminally ill. The speakers include Dr. James Scaduto, Dr. Jodi Friedman, Clinical Social Worker Allison Gould and Hudson Valley Hospice Clinical Social Worker, Peggy Kuras. End-of-life measures are not about giving up; they are about providing a better quality of life. We accept the importance of planning in many aspects of our lives; we should equally accept advance care planning. The end result is less chaos at the time of death of our loved ones, a greater potential for achieving peace of mind, and the assurance that a person’s wishes are honored and respected. Lifetrend is located in Rhinebeck. For information about advance care planning, contact Charlotte Michos at (845) 548- 5980 or [email protected]
